Liz Scarbrough, President and co-founder of Taggart International, Ltd, in Doral was a recipient of the ESGR Patriot Award at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Doral recently. The award was presented to Ms. Scarbrough (front, holding plaque) by Adriana Forero, ESGR’s Area Vice-Chair (fifth from left) and United States Army Reservist, SPC Emmanuel Robles (fourth from left). The surprise ceremony was also attended by a few of the headquarters staff who joined in congratulating her.

Following the presentation of the award, Executive Vice President and co-founder Sean Scarbrough took the time to sign a Statement of Support, re-committing the company’s support of the Guard and Reserve and its obligation to the Citizen Warriors who also serve as their employees.

Ms. Scarbrough was nominated for the prestigious ESGR/Department of defense Patriot Award by her employee, Emmanuel Robles, who is a member of the United States Army Reserve and currently assigned to the 758th Engineer Company, located at the Luis Martinez Army Reserve Center in Perrine, Florida. In his request to ESGR for this award to be presented to Ms. Scarbrough, SPC Robles spoke highly of Taggart international Ltd’s support to him during his absences for drill weekends, annual training and deployments as well as their high regard for all who serve in the military to protect our freedom and way of life.

The Patriot Award is the first in a series of Awards by ESGR presented to an individual supervisor at a National Guard or Reserve member’s civilian workplace. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
